Las Vegas Restaurants taste going down, not at Lotus of Siam

As someone who has been coming to Las Vegas regularly for years, and now lives in Las Vegas, I have visitors who come out here all the time. It seems like lately the feedback I get the most from people is "The food is not as good as it used to be" or " Hey, the service there is not as good as before, they are under staffed".

It wasn't too big of a shock to me because I was actually feeling the same thing, but I was thinking that I was too sensitive. Turns out other people felt it too. I am not talking about your regular restaurants which can be a little more understandable, although not excusable. I am talking about hotel restaurants, high end restaurants, famous restaurants that people look forward to going to when they come to visit Las Vegas. It's even worse when you recommend a place to your friends, or you take your visitors to a nice restaurant where you expect a certain level of taste and service, and you get something else

While all of this was going on recently, we had some guests over here, and somehow was lucky enough to squeeze in a reservation to Lotus of Siam on a weekend. For those of you that do not know, it is normally impossible. You normally have to reserve several weeks in advance to catch a meal here.

As busy as Lotus of Siam was (Completely Full), we never got the feeling that they were understaffed. We were greeted with a smile, and our server was 5 star great. We started our meal with the Chicken satay, and the satay was also 5 star worthy. You already know how the rest of your meal is going to be when it starts off this good!

I won't go in to detail with every plate that we ordered that day, however I will mention one more before I go into the regulars. The prawns. There are several different prawn dishes here. They are all similar, but different if that makes any sense =) Don't get the wrong idea. I am not saying something bad about the prawns. I am saying the opposite. They are all good, so try them all! The one we had this day, pictured about is the Garlic Prawn. Very good dish! 1 order of the garlic prawns was enough for 5 of us to have a few each!

Of course aside from the Garlic Prawns and the Chicken Satay, we had the usual Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, 2 different Fried Rice, etc. Every single dish was 5 stars!

So back to what I was saying before. In a time when most restaurants tastes are going downhill, and service is getting worse and worse, Lotus of Siam deserves another mention on here. 5 star service and 5 star taste! Also they are opening a 3rd location at the Red Rock Casino soon.

It is really disappointing that Vegas has come to this. Not only with their restaurants, but hotel service is heading in the same direction too. You cannot really blame the workers, it is not their fault that they are understaffed and overbooked every weekend like this. As I've mentioned in my other posts, I am not here to bash on any businesses, so I will not mention names specifically, but even some of the High End restaurants we went to on the strip lately tasted like rubbish. Again, I know that things have changed a lot since the pandemic, and it may take time to adjust, but a certain standard has to kept up here in Las Vegas.

Thumbs up to Lotus of Siam!
